In the BlueGolf Featured Tournament last week, the IJGT hosted the Summer Series at the Ridge at Back Brook in Ringoes, N.J., on July 29-30, 2014. The field was full and capped at 53 players who eagerly competed for national rankings in addition to the title as champion of the event. The three juniors played their final round together at the Ridge at Back Brook. Pongrac finished the tournament in second carding scores of 80-83–163 overall. The highlight of his performance came in round one where he posted birdies on three of the tough par-4s. The second place finish for Pongrac was his fourth top-three finish of the 2013-2014 season.

Weiner ended up the champion of the Boys 14 & Under Division after shaving an impressive six strokes from his round one score to assume his position in first. Two second-round birdies and 11 pars aided in his come-from-behind win. The win came in Weiner’s first appearance in an IJGT event.

Snyder finished fourth at the Ridge at Back Brook after carding a two-day total of 189. Snyder’s birdie on the par-4 No. 9 in round two kick started his three stroke improvement from round one. Weiner also won the Clazic Belts Low Final Round Award after recording the lowest second-round score in the division.

Congratulations to all three young gentleman, we are eager to see you again in future tournaments!
