St. John Golf and Fitness to sponsor event at Penfield CC

BLUFFTON, S.C. The International Junior Golf Tour (IJGT) is excited to announce St. John Golf and Fitness as the tournament title sponsor for the event outside of Rochester, N.Y.  The St. John Golf and Fitness Open at Penfield CC will be held on Sept. 19-20, 2015 in Penfield, N.Y.

Located in Rochester, N.Y., St. John Golf and Tennis’ mission statement believes that every individual should be able to reach their full potential as an athlete, unbiased to their abilities. Their unique approach helps engaged student-athletes not only on a golf level, but they take an interest in their player’s personal life as well.

Jeffrey St. John, Director of Instruction at St. John Golf and Fitness is a Rochester native who is a Class-A PGA professional and currently serves as the Junior Golf Academy Director at the Country Club of Rochester. Jeffery’s certifications include: Titleist Performance Institute certified, K-VEST certified, US Kids certified and Positive Coaching Alliance certified.

St John’s Golf and Fitness center offers two state-of-the-art golf simulators that allow athletes to view accurate ball flight and play golf indoors. Courses are displayed in three dimensions, using the latest in 3D graphics advancement. A key exceptional feature of St John Golf and Fitness is the K-Vest system. It offers precise measurements of swing efficiency and movement patterns.

The IJGT is excited to continue the partnership with St. John Golf and Fitness in order to bring top-tier tournaments to the junior golfers in Upstate New York. Combined with the outstanding training at St. John Golf and Fitness, these junior golfers are given all the tools they need to be successful on the course and continue their golf careers in college.

St. John Golf and Fitness Open at Mendon – Round One Recap (May 2, 2015)

The IJGT Northeast Tour traveled to Mendon, N.Y., to host the St. John Golf & Fitness Open. Juniors teed off holes No. 1 and 10 beginning at 1 p.m. for the first round of the two-day, 36-hole event. In review, below are each division’s leaders’ rounds, in numbers.

Ben Reichert leads the Boys 15-19 Division. His round in numbers:

8 – He made par or better on eight holes on the front nine

72 – His 1-over round one score to carry the lead

4.3 – His division-best average on par-5s

2 – His two birdies came on the par-5 sixth and 10th holes

Sarah Godfrey-Singleton leads the Girls Division. Her round in numbers:

78 – Her division-best round one score

5 – Her five-hole par-or-better streak came on holes No. 3 through 7

2 – She leads the division by two strokes

TJ Buck leads the Boys 14 & Under Division. His round in numbers:

76 – His round one score to lead the division

2 – He made back-to-back birdies on holes No. 15 and 16

1 – He leads the division by a single strokes
