Tournament Exemptions – IMG Junior World Championships

The International Junior Golf Tour (IJGT) is committed to providing its members with the finest playing opportunities in the world. Again this year, the IJGT will be awarding an exemption into the IMG Junior World Championships. Here are the details:

Who: Boys 15 – 19 Division and Girls Division*

What: 2016 IMG Junior World Championships Exemptions

When: July 10-15, 2016

Where: Torrey Pines – South and La Costa (Southern California)

How: The Boys 15-19 Division and Girls Division Champions at the IMG Junior World Qualifier at Hilton Head Lakes on April 23-24 and the Northeast Tour Championship at Hershey Country Club on May 7-8 will receive exemptions to the 2016 IMG Junior World Championships

*The qualifier must be 17 years old or younger as of July 15, 2016

 

About the IMG Junior World Championships
The IMG Junior World Championships has grown to 1200 participants representing 56 countries and 42 states. The IMG Junior World Championships is the largest international event in the world and is unique for its international representation and cultural diversity. Former champions include Tiger Woods, Ernie Els, Phil Mickelson, and many other professional golfers from around the world.

The International Junior Golf Tour (IJGT) is committed to providing its members with the finest playing opportunities in the world. Again this year, the IJGT will be awarding an exemption into the Sea Pines Junior Heritage. Here are the details:

Who: Boys 15 – 19 Division and Girls Division

What: 2016 Sea Pines Junior Heritage

When: February 6-7, 2016

Where: Heron Point and Harbour Town Golf Links at Sea Pines Resort

How: The Boys 15-19 Division and Girls Division IJGA Invitational Champions will receive exemptions to the 2016 Sea Pines Junior Heritage

 

About the Sea Pines Junior Heritage
The Sea Pines Junior Heritage is one of the most prestigious and competitive two day 36 hole events held annually at the Sea Pines Resort on the Pete Dye designed Heron Point and Harbour Town Golf Links.  The tournament crowned it’s first individual champion in 1989 when Hans Albertson took the boys title with a 36-hole score of 144. Vicki Goetze had the low score for the girls with a 148, even though an official girl’s champion was not crowned until 1990.  Past champions include current and past PGA and LPGA Tour players like; Kyle Stanley, Ty Tryon and Paula Creamer.

Tournament Exemptions – International Junior Masters

The International Junior Golf Tour (IJGT) is committed to providing its members with the finest playing opportunities in the world. Again this year, the IJGT will be awarding exemptions into the International Junior Masters. Here are the details:

Who: IJGT Boys 15-19 Division

What: 2015 International Junior Masters

When: June 22-26, 2015

Where: East Aurora Country Club in Aurora, N.Y. 

How: The top finisher in the Boys 15-19 Division of the  St. John Golf & Fitness Open at Mendon Golf Club  in Rochester, N.Y., and the Bridgestone Golf Tournament of Champions at Grand Cypress in Orlando, Fla., will receive exemptions to the International Junior Masters!

About the International Junior Masters

The International Junior Masters is a junior golf tournament for boys 14 to 18 years old.  We are the oldest international junior invitational in North America.  Started in 1953, we are proud of notable participants list, many of whom went on to have successful careers on the PGA Tour. The tournament week consists of a Member-Junior 18 hole team event on Monday. After registration and opening ceremonies on Monday, the field of 80 plays 18 holes of Stroke Play on Tuesday. Wednesday morning the second round of Stroke Play determines the following Match Play pairings. Wednesday afternoon the low 32 players start the Championship bracket of Match Play. Matches are contested over 18 holes. The 16 losers of these opening matches will continue in the Championship Consolation bracket. The next 48 qualifiers will be flighted in 16 man brackets: Gold, Silver and Bronze. Thursday morning and afternoon will have 18 hole matches in all flights. These results will set up the semi-final matches Friday morning and the finals for Friday afternoon.

About the IJGT

The IJGT  provides domestic and international junior golfers national exposure in competitive tournaments at top venues around the world, preparing them for future success in golf and in life. As a tour that operates primarily throughout the academic year, the IJGT hosts approximately 60 tournaments annually. Each event provides multi-day competition for junior golfers of all skill levels ages 10-19. Players representing 40 states and 40 countries around the world regularly compete in events at venues such as TPC Sawgrass, Kiawah Island Resort, Hershey Country Club, and Harbour Town Golf Links. Official partners of the IJGT include Bridgestone Golf, Clazic Belts, EyeLine Golf, Oakley, AHEAD Headwear, BagBoy, The First Tee, Golfweek, Bishops Gate Golf Academy, and the International Junior Golf Academy.

IJGT Tournament Exemptions: International Junior Masters

Who: IJGT Boys 15-19 Division 

What: 2013 International Junior Masters 

When: June 24-28, 2013

Where: East Aurora Country Club in Aurora, N.Y. 

How: The top-2 finishers in the Boys 15-19 Division of the AB Golf Designs  Junior at Ravenwood Golf Club in Victor, N.Y., will receive exemptions to the International Junior Masters!

In addition, the IJGT hosts three international events. Each event provides multi-day competition for junior golfers of all skill levels ages 9-19. Players representing 45 states and 43 countries around the world regularly compete in events at venues such as TPC Sawgrass, Pinehurst, Bethpage State Park and Harbour Town Golf Links. Official partners of the IJGT include Bridgestone Golf, Quagmire Golf, KENTWOOL, CHAMP Spikes, AB Golf Designs, Clazic Belts, morodZ, Sundog Eyewear, PURE Grips, The First Tee, Golfweek and International Junior Golf Academy.
