Player Code of Conduct

The IJGT Code of Conduct has been established to ensure that the traditions and integrity of the game are upheld. The IJGT requires all members to adhere to the following set of guidelines in order to make the tournament enjoyable and competitive for all those involved.

Advice (USGA Rule 8): Is any counsel or suggestion which could influence a player in determining his play, the choice of a club or the method of making a stroke. In addition, any conversation between parent/spectator may be construed as advice. This includes any conversation between player/spectator in their native language. Players are responsible for the actions of their relatives and spectators in regards to this rule.

Alcohol, Tobacco and Drugs: The use of any of these substances on or off the golf course will be considered a violation of the Code of Conduct resulting in disqualification and/or suspension from the IJGT golf tournament(s) at the Tour's absolute discretion.

Attire:  All IJGT tournament players must wear proper golf attire while at the golf facility. No tank tops, t-shirts, blue jean pants/shorts or cut-offs are allowed. During play, collared shirts must be worn and tucked in at all times. If a hat is worn, it should be worn in the proper manner. Headphones and mp3 players are prohibited.

On-Course Behavior: Abusive or inappropriate language; disrespectful behaviors towards officials, volunteers or golf professionals; throwing or breaking clubs; any form of cheating; leaving the golf course without properly notifying an official during a tournament round; and abuse of the golf course in any way will be considered Code Of Conduct violations. A one-stroke penalty will be enforced by the IJGT for any behavior on the golf course it deems unsportsmanlike. A second offense will result in automatic disqualification from the tournament and possible suspensions from future events. Caddies are prohibited.

Off-Course Behavior: Any abusive language, vandalism of any kind at the host hotel or golf facility, history of juvenile delinquency and any other conduct not becoming of an IJGT member, is a violation of the Code of Conduct. Violation may bring a letter of warning to parents and player, a disqualification from IJGT tournament(s), and/or a disqualification from future events and/or suspension from all future events.

Pace of Play Policy

Pace of Play is very important. Please keep in position with the group in front of you. You are out of position if the group in front of you puts the flag in the hole before your group puts the flag in your respective hole. If you cannot keep up with the group in front of you, please keep up with your time par:

18 minutes for a Par 5
15 minutes for a Par 4
12 minutes for a Par 3

Each player will be given a pace of play guideline sheet on the No. 1 or No. 10 tee. This sheet will have the time allotted for each hole and the total amount of time needed to complete the round. If you are out of position and out of time par, the group and each player will automatically be put on the clock. The IJGT will allow 45 seconds for each player to play a stroke. If a player has two bad times during the round, he/she will incur a penalty of:

1 stroke for the first offense
2 strokes for the second offense
Penalty of Disqualification for the 3rd offense under USGA Rule 6-7

Please play ready golf.

Billing Policy

The IJGT billing process is as follows:

If you are accepted into a tournament that is more than 14 days from the tournament start date, you have the option to pay either the minimum non-refundable deposit of $100 or any other amount up to the entire entry fee.

If you are accepted into a tournament that is less than 14 days from the tournament start date, you will be charged the entire entry fee (deposit + balance).

Beginning 14 days before any tournament start date the remaining balance is due. We process the tender used for the deposit or the credit card on file, to pay the remaining tournament balance. If you need to update your credit card information, please log in to your player profile, select the not processed transactions and make the needed credit card information adjustments.

Due to the increasing cost of credit card processing, we will reprocess a player’s credit card information one time per season at no charge. All additional reprocessing will be assessed a $25 administration fee. Please make sure you keep your credit card information updated.

A player has until the Monday before the tournament to withdraw. The player will have two options at this point:

On-Site Withdrawal Policy

The IJGT receives far more applications than spots available in our tournaments. Players who need to withdraw from a tournament should do one or more of the following:

Due to the increase in withdrawals over the last few years, the IJGT has instituted the following withdrawal policy for players who withdraw from an event after they have started their first round.

After play has begun, all players wishing to withdraw must report to the Tournament Director before leaving the golf course. The Tournament Director may ask the player’s fellow competitors questions about the illness or injury. Based on the information gathered, the Tournament Director will categorize the player’s withdrawal in one of three categories listed below and the corresponding action will take place:

Justified Withdrawal

The player is obviously ill, injured, or a family tragedy has occurred. The Tournament Director and the player will sign the Withdrawal Form and (WD - illness or injury) will be listed next to the player’s name in the tournament results. The Tournament Director will report the withdrawal to the IJGT Review Board and no further action will be taken.

Questionable Withdrawal

The Tournament Director is unable to determine if the player is withdrawing for a legitimate reason or an extreme weather delay which may cause a player to miss a flight and/or incur substantial costs.

If the Tournament Director is unable to determine if a player has a legitimate reason for withdrawing from a tournament they will rule the withdrawal questionable. The Tournament Director and the player will sign the Withdrawal Form and (WD) will be listed next to the player’s name in the tournament results. The Tournament Director will report the withdrawal to the IJGT Review Board and a questionable withdrawal will be recorded in the player's history.

If a player receives three questionable withdrawals, his/her membership will be suspended and the player will not be eligible for year-end honors.

Unjustified Withdrawal

The player is obviously withdrawing due to poor play or lack of ambition to play. This includes players leaving the golf course or city in which the event is conducted or failing to show up for any subsequent rounds of an event, without talking to the Tournament Director in person.

This is a serious breach of the IJGT Withdrawal Policy and the Tournament Director will rule the withdrawal unjustified. The Tournament Director and the player (if available) will sign the Withdrawal Form and (WD or DQ 6-3a) will be listed next to the player’s name in the tournament results depending on the nature of the situation. The Tournament Director will report the withdrawal to the IJGT Review Board, and the player will immediately be withdrawn from his next event. For a second offense the player’s membership will be suspended and the player will not be eligible for year-end honors. The player will be removed from all future tournaments he/she is signed up for, and all deposits will be forfeit.
