History

In 1995, the International Junior Golf Academy (IJGA) opened its doors on Hilton Head Island, SC.  At that time, there was no organized school year junior golf tour available for the academy’s six students. Ray Travaglione, founder of IJGA, recognized that regular competition experiences were necessary to challenge and develop players; hence, he created the International Junior Golf Tour (IJGT).

In its first year of operation, the IJGT held eight regional events. Three years later, the IJGT had expanded to 23 events nationwide.  Now in its 23rd year, the IJGT is open to all junior golfers, and its 2017-2018 season features 40 events at some of golf’s finest US venues, as well as tournaments in Canada and Scotland.
